Support for Learning
Welcome to the Support for Learning page. Here we provide you with information about student support and its facilities.
Our role in the College is to provide support to students who are having difficulties with the academic side of their courses.
We can help you if you have a specific learning difficulty (like dyslexia or dyspraxia), a disability, sensory impairment or any other additional support need. We can arrange to meet you and carry out a needs assessment and create a Personal Learning and Support Plan. This plan is designed to identify the support you need and detail what we will do to help you.
The support we provide will vary for each individual but among our services are one-to-one support, Alternative Assessment Arrangements (such as readers/scribes or extra time) and loan of specialist equipment.
In addition to the support we provide to the student groups identified above we also run workshops open to all students on the following topics:
- Study skills
- Essay and report writing
- Computing skills
- Maths / Numeracy
If you would like to discuss any of the above issues ask for Lorna Jenkins in the Street Building. Alternatively, you can contact us by telephone on 01506 427604
